Time For Some Taking A Break Music

So anyway, I'm taking a breather from the news (and blogging) for a while because frankly it's making me stupid. Or stupider. Or maybe I'm not sure if I'm actually getting stupid or if the news itself has gotten so stupid that it's actually dipping below some critical level of my not-at-all discerning tastes and causing some sort of physical and mental reaction that manifests itself in slack-jawed, glazed-eyed bewilderment. Either way, I'm going to try and ignore most of it and see what happens. Oh well. Whatever.

Your Weeee! This Is Gonna Be Great! Quote Of The Day

"Get ready for a massive legal assault on houses of worship that refuse to accommodate same-sex weddings. Even legislation on the federal and state level may not be able to undo the broad opening that Kennedy et al has forced on the religious institutions and people in the US."

Your There Will Be No Reform Of SCOTUSCare Either Quote Of The Day

"One last thing. Because the Supreme Court has plucked Obamacare out of the normal Chevron framework, the IRS cannot now rescind the regulation, claiming it has a new interpretation of the ambiguous statute. If you’re wondering why the Chief Justice and the others went so far out of bounds, that’s your answer: they don’t want a President Rubio undoing the subsidies, which, applying Chevron deference, would have been perfectly reasonable to do. With Obamacare, the Court is saying the IRS cannot change its mind because the Court has already made its mind up."

  • Nowhere is the phrase tempest in a teapot better exemplified than in the media.
  • On The Six Million Dollar Man they used slow motion to show that Steve Austin was moving really fast.

  • If Microsoft was smart they would just release the names of the people who designed Windows 8 and let the masses deal with them.
  • None of the women being proposed to appear on our currency were more important to this country than Andrew Jackson was.

Remember Today When Republicans Say We Need To Elect Them Or Liberals Will Control The Courts

Yes but yesterday we were campaigning. Then you voted.

Yep. Exactly.

Your The Washington Post = Real Journalism Quote Of The Day

"I think I sold him a lollipop in a nightclub, Mr. Fuji's Tropicana. It was 1992. He was very charming. He was very sweet. I gave him a lollipop for some reason."

Hmmmm. I'm old enough to remember when the majority of extremist attacks were from environmentalists. I guess they're considered jihadists now since they certainly aren't right-wingers. Er... pardon, non-jihadists.

Your Reality Takes Another Savage Beating Quote Of The Day

President Obama is standing by Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Katherine Archuleta despite a series of massive data breaches that have shaken the federal government, the White House said Wednesday.
